Miami welcomes Atlanta to South Beach tonight for what looks to be a great game. One one hand, the Heat are only 1 and 6 against teams with + .500 records. However, the Heat are playing some good basketball right now, and just got the rest they needed. Tonight's game is a momentum shifter for either team as we being to enter the middle of this season.
I really hope we see the Miami Heat team that destroyed Cleveland in tonight's game. Lets go through the lineup and see tonight's keys to victory.
LeBron has to be LeBron. We saw a glimpse of everything his is capable of against Cleveland the other night, which was amazing. LeBron got to the lane at will, made some great plays on both ends of the court, and was knocking down big shots easily. I expect his incredible defense tonight against a powerful Hawks Squad.
Wade just has to keep scoring. He tore it up last night, which complimented James' efforts beautifully. I love how Wade understands that he is not the vocal leader on this team anymore and fully embraces his new duties. If Wade and James are on the same page, Atlanta is in a lot of trouble.
The thing I love about Bosh is his consistency. He is a solid jump shot, crashes the boards, and has made some great plays as of late. He has been the anchor of the front court, and should continue his solid play tonight. When he opens up those lanes for LeBron and D Wade, Miami is extremely hard to stop.
As for the bench, I am really impressed with how the have played recently. They are all getting their points and knocking down the open shot. On top of that, the defense has been outstanding. I expect Chalmers and Howard to get some more minutes tonight. Chalmers has been playing good basketball lately, and I think he has earned some more time on the court. Hopefully coach Spo will see this at well.
This game is a real test for the Heat. They beat up on some suspect teams, and now it is time to go against one of the big dogs. I want to see Miami go out their and earn their spot in the east. I said LeBron would have a big game against Cleveland, and he did. Tonight, I expect no less than 30 points from the king.

The King's Thoughts
Here is a clip of LeBron's post game interview before he headed into the locker room. I don't care what they say about him digging the whole deeper, this was a classy move and LeBron's way of saying that he didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings or throw anything in anyone's face. This was a great statement.
LeBron's Heat Wave Will Be Under Construction
So, this website has grown a lot since when I started out. Due to this, I am going to be moving to a self hosted website, where I can give you guys way more features and all kinds of great stuff. Expect some t shirts, clothing, more videos, and anything else you guys could possibly want. (if you have any requests, email me). I will also be adding some new writers to the team to give you guys as much information as possible.
Unfortunately, the name www.lebronsheatwave.com will be out of service for 24-48 hours starting later this afternoon. I will still be writing and posting links, but the website www.lebronsheatwave.com will not be able to be accessed. In order to keep up with the site, you can type in www.lebronsheatwave.blogspot.com. I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as the move has been made.
Thank you for your patience, and again, thank you for your support.

LeBron vs Cleveland: The Hangover
It's finally over. LeBron has come and gone, and Cleveland is left with their jaws agape. The king was booed, heckled, and screamed at for 48 minutes as he casually dropped 38 points. Fans were ejected, an arrest was made, and an object was thrown. The Heat are home in Miami and the storm has passed. Now what?
LeBron can finally exhale. I am sure last night was emotionally draining for him, and he needs a little time with family and friends. After being around so much hate it will be nice to be around some supporters.
Wade can keep working on his play. He played great last night, and can must continue to be the slasher to the basket that we know and love. When Wade can play at the top of his game he offers a change of pace, a set of fresh legs, and yet another game changer in the Heat line up.
Bosh needs the rest just as much as anyone. He has to work for a lot of boards game in and game out, which could lead to a lot of wear and tear. With the small line up Miami has, his job has become extremely difficult (especially since Haslem is hurt). A day of rest before Atlanta could be just what the doctor ordered.
The Heat take on a strong Atlanta team tomorrow night, which could turn out to be a very tough game. The big 3 need to rest to make up for Miami's lack of depth (Especially LeBron, who has had an especially tough week). Hopefully today is enough to heal up any bumps and bruises suffered this week.
For Miami, I believe last night's game will be looked at as the turning point for their season. The Heat went into a hostile environment and destroyed their opponent. Now, they are fired up. Atlanta is known to play badly against better teams, and LeBron, Wade, and Bosh are hot. If the Heat can keep this up with this upcoming schedule they may be headed towards a double digit winning streak.

LeBron Dismantles Cleveland 118-90
Be careful what you wish for, Cleveland.
Cleveland was waiting ever since the decision to see LeBron up close and in person. All the talk of "Queen James" and "The Queen Is Dead" have echoed through Ohio since LeBron's departure. However, we can all see that the king is alive. Alive, and better than ever.
James tore the Cavs up tonight. He shot lights out, played incredible defense, got boards, and made the defense look silly. In the 3rd quarter, James did whatever he wanted and showed the Cavs no mercy. Every boo and explicit chant was answered by at least 2 points, if not more. LeBron was knocking down some serious shots tonight, and silencing all the haters.
I really can't say enough about LeBron's performance tonight. I love how he stuck it to Cleveland and showed the Cavaliers that he is going to have his way with them whenever he wants. Great game LeBron, great game.
As for the rest of the team, they definitely did their part. Wade and Bosh made their presence known, and helped Cleveland establish a lead and never look back. Bosh;s shot was on, and Wade played great defense and through some very nice assists tonight, complimenting his 22 point performance. Tonight was LeBron's night, but these two came up and had great supporting roles.
The bench stepped up and showed me something yet again. Jones added 5 3's and lit up the scoreboard early. When Jones can step up and knock down wide open looks, it is extremely hard for opponents to catch up. Juwan Howard, Mario Chalmers, and Joel Anthony also got great minutes tonight. The bench play has been key in these last two games. I know the big 3 is going to score most of the points, but when each bench player can put up 4 or 6 points, it makes all the difference in the world.
Overall, Miami out shot, out rebounded, and out hustled the Cavaliers tonight. Cleveland came out with intensity, but Miami quickly silenced the crowd. I know the Cavaliers team is not doing great so far into the season, but we all knew LeBron was a target. I am glad the King was able to put on a show and let the Cavs, and the world, know that he was not going to be pushed around in his home state.
I loved this win for Miami. It gave them momentum and ends a very difficult set of games with a bang. I think Spoelstra learned a lot about his team this week, and the Heat learned a lot about themselves.
Great intensity, great team work, great win.
Long live the King
Heat Vs Cavs: Enough Said
LeBron said tonight will be emotional. Everyone has been talking about this game for months now. The Cavs are pumped, the Heat are pumped, and Cleveland has been salivating for weeks ready to sink their teeth into the king. The stage has been set, and now we wait.
This game is a must win for Miami. I just can't imagine the Heat losing. Miami will step up for their leader. Everyone will come together, play big, keep up the intensity, and win the game.
I want to see Wade get some points tonight. He is going to have to be the pure scorer again and try and slash to basket to get get the Cavs in foul trouble early. When Wade gets going he is very hard to stop, so I would like him to catch fire early.
Bosh has to hustle tonight. The Cavs are a hard working team that are going to fight for every board both offensive and defensive. We need Bosh to be there to fight for boards constantly tonight to get the win. His shot as been falling recently, and I expect that to continue.
The rest of the squad needs to play the EXACT same way they played last night. Hustle, Heart, Intensity, Points. Chalmers will be seeing more minutes again tonight and I expect him to make good use of them. This bench is coming into Cleveland at just the right time. They had a good game last night and they are pumped up and ready to go.
And now we have LeBron. I want to see the King dominate this game. I would not be the least bit surprised if he went for 50 points. This guy is ticked off, and he will go out of his way to embarrass the people who hate on him now. Here is LeBron's big chance to finally express himself and how he feels the Cleveland fans have been treating him.
Expect a royal performance from the king.

Great Heat Team Work Leads To Domination Of Pistons
If there was ever a way for the Heat to get ready for tomorrow night, this was it. What a great game. The Heat played like a real team tonight, in one of the best team performances of the years. I saw a lot of stuff I liked tonight.
LeBron started off with a bang. The King had a dominant first quarter and was putting up some serious points, grabbing some boards, and dishing out some assists. He got everyone involved early and made it look easy. He set the pace for this outstanding team work tonight with his great start, and the rest of the team followed in his path.
Wade got his as well. Dwayne Wade shot 7 for 9 tonight and got plenty of good looks around the rim. He let the game come to him and his whole style of game seemed to be much more fluent and natural. I like this look for Dwayne Wade.
Bosh played some solid ball. I love the way Chris Bosh shoots. The ball never seems to touch the rim when he is drilling shots, and he made it look easy tonight. LeBron found him often, and he was able to run the squad by himself when both James and Wade were taking a breather. Bosh helped the Heat keep their double digit lead through most of the second quarter. Big ups to number 1.
My favorite part of this game was the way everyone else played. Chalmers got some fantastic minutes, Howard put up 12, House added 8, and everyone else got involved in some way. Big Z had some big points early in the game and Jones shot 50 percent from the 3 point line. These guys played the way the Miami Heat were meant to play. The intensity was way up, the tenacity was through the roof, and I really can not say enough about how well this team played tonight in a +20 victory over Detroit.
And now, the focus shifts. The Detroit game was the last obstacle, and now there is nothing standing between LeBron James and Cleveland. This will be one of the biggest game in the career of LeBron James. The Cleveland fans who have scorned and terminated him from their lives will be just feet away from him. Tickets at the Q are sold out, and the drama continue to build. LeBron needs to stay focused, stay on course, and be the leader that we all know he is. Cleveland can boo all they want, but they are not playing the game.
It is LeBron against his old team, for the first time ever.
Expect big things from the King.

Pistons Head To South Beach Tonight At 7:30
With all the talk about Cleveland, some have forgotten that the Miami Heat still have one more game to play before they head out to Ohio. Tonight, the Piston's will travel to South Beach to take on the Heat.
The Pistons come into the game off a loss to Orlando. With a 6-12 record, they are not having the best start to their season. However, they are an explosive set of guys who can easily put together a strong performance in Miami. They are a formidable opponent and should not be overlooked.
Miami has a lot going on right now. The coaching situation, the injuries, and the constant scrutiny can all have an impact on tonight's game. The goal is to stay focused. I saw a lot of guys step up against Washington. That is great to see, but now they have to keep up that same pace against the Pistons. Everyone on this team needs to do their part to put up some points, crash the boards, and play tough defense.
LeBron is under the most pressure of anyone (even more than Coach Spo). He knows that tomorrow night he has to play what will probably be the hardest game of his career. However, LeBron is a champion. Furthermore, LeBron is a champion with a temper. I look for him to take out all his frustration on the Pistons and Cavs in the next two games. James has always been booed in cities like Detroit and New York and has always been able to put on a show. I expect him to do some serious scoring tonight and give Cleveland a little preview of what they are in for.
Wade needs to be here in the next few games for LeBron. When LeBron is feeling overwhelmed, Wade needs to provide the support. I look for him to score at least 20 tonight with most of that scoring the second half. Wade likes to take over in the second half, and Miami tends to play much better when he does.
Bosh needs to just be Bosh. He is always improving and progressing with the Miami roster, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I want to see a double double out of the big man.
As for everyone else, play the game. I don't want to break this down into individual players because the the whole team needs to be involved here. Miami played some great basketball against Wizards and what I loved the most about that game was the team work and intensity. Lets see that again tonight.
I know the Cavs are in the rear view, but LeBron and the Heat have to look ahead. I want to see them go out there tonight and make a statement. Bring the Heat.

Wade's Advice
LeBron and Dwanye Wade are best of friends off the court, which they have been before LeBron had even considered going to Miami. Both men were asked about the game against Cleveland Thursday night, and Wade stepped up big time for his friends.
Wade told the media that if LeBron did not throw the powder in to the air pre game, he would. Although LeBron has already stated that he was planning on continuing the ritual in Cleveland, Wade still went out of his way to let LeBron know that he had his back.
Wade knows how hard this is going to be, and how emotion the whole situation is. I really appreciate him looking out for his team mate and friend.

Cleveland Approaches
The game everyone has been waiting for is almost here. In 2 days, LeBron and the Miami Heat will travel to Cleveland, where LeBron will take on the Cavs for the first time ever. The tension is building, and Cleveland is talking. It is not doubt that this will be a very hostile environment, and a tough experience for any Miami Heat player.
I am really not excited for this game. I am worried about the society we live in more than anything else. We live in a world where an athlete could give anything for his sports team for years, and then, when he feels it is time to move on, there is uproar. I truly do not understand it. LeBron gave his all in Cleveland every night, and the city of Cleveland is acting absolutely ridiculous. I understand they are mad, and thats okay. But honestly, their team is not doing that bad, it is not the end of the world, and LeBron had no contractual obligation to the team, so stop crying.
I remember a time when a man by the name of Shaq decided it was a good idea to leave a city that loved him (Orlando). How did that work out for him? I get the strange feeling that he may not have 3-peated in Florida. Then we have players like Reggie Miller, who had ample opportunities to leave and move on to greener pastures. He decided not to, and will remain ringless for the rest of his life.
I understand Cleveland's frustration. I understand that they thought LeBron would be around forever, but the fact of the matter is that he isn't and they need to stop crying about the past and worry about their future. LeBron did not leave Cleveland empty handed. The players that they brought in to help him out for the past few seasons are doing well without him, and sooner or later Cleveland will be a formidable team. Cleveland fans are just a little upset that they do not have any other teams to cheer for.
This game deeply troubles me. I do not want to see the worst in people, and that is exactly what we are going to get Thursday night. Vulgar fans who hate LeBron with every ounce of their being, who will not hesitate to hurl the closest blunt object at the Miami bench.
I hope LeBron tears this team apart. I hope he walks into that gym confident, has a monster game, and shows Cleveland whats up. After the way Cleveland acted upon his departure, they deserve it.
So come on LeBron! Go out there, do your thing, be respectful, and be the bigger person. Beat Cleveland with class and really give those fans something to boo about.

Chris Broussard's Take
As far as honest reporting goes, Chris Broussard is one of the best. This guy does not say anything that he does not know 100 percent, and he is probably the only one that reports and the Heat and LeBron that I will actually listen to. Very good insight.
James, Wade, and Spoelstra: Now What?
As of right now the coaching situation in Miami is very much up in the air. We know that LeBron and Wade held a players only meeting. We know that Coach Spo and LeBron had a 30 minute private meeting before last nights game, and we also know that Wade did not really defend Spo when he had the chance. So what happens now?
LeBron and Wade have to be the ones to hold the team together during this time. These guys have more than enough leadership experience to take charge and lead this team through the next few weeks. We know Wade and James are not happy with Spo, and we know that they both have the power to have him removed from his position if need be. These two men really stepped up last night in the victory over the Wizards, and I expect that type of play to continue.
I know no one has officially announced termination yet, but I don't think that Spo will be on the bench much longer. Quite frankly, he is stuck between too many great people and it is proving to be too much for him to handle. I do not think Pat Riley wants to step down from his position to go coach the team, but I do know that he has the heart of a champion and wants to win by any means necessary. He will, sooner or later, come down and lead this team. Spoelstra is having his chance now, but Pat Riley will not let this type of talent maintain this type of record much longer.
For now, we just have to wait and see what happens. Miami is more than capable of winning the next 10 games straight (which may save Spoelstra's job). At the same time, however, each loss brings the Heat closer and closer to a new coach.
The Heat take on the Pistons tomorrow night. For Erik Spoelstra, this week may be his last chance.

LeBron Leads Charge Past Wizards : 105-94
This was the game that the Miami Heat needed. This game had intensity, scoring, defense, team work, and everything else you could ever hope to see from the Heat players. Lets break this game down.
Scoring. It FINALLY CAME FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE. Yeah, I know, LeBron had 30 and Wade had 26. I also know that Bosh added 20 points as well. However, that is not the statistic that impresses me. What I liked is that 5 DIFFERENT bench players put up points. The bench combined for 25 points, which is not too bad considering how they have been playing recently. The bench did some damage tonight, which all Miami Heat players and fans can appreciate. I also like how Dampier got some minutes and grabbed some boards. This is a very good sign.
I loved the intensity in this game. Things got very chippy, but players like Howard and Jones were right there to get in the face of any Wizard player who had something to say. Both confrontations in the game involved a Washington player taking it too far, and I liked that Howard did not hesitate to help his team mate after the hard foul, even if it got him ejected.
As far the starters, they brought the Heat was well. LeBron was strong to the whole, and Wade took his game to a whole new level in the second half. These two, LeBron in particular, knew the importance of this game and were not about to let a team like Washington walk into their gym and beat them. Great intensity all around tonight.
This Heat team looks a lot like the Heat team we would expect to see in future games. A group of winners that want to go out there every night and prove to teams they are not going to be pushed around. I know Wall did not play tonight and the Wizards do not have the best record, but a win is a win.
Miami can do some serious damage in the NBA if they could put together more games like this one. The players meeting after the Dallas game seemed to do a lot of good. LeBron has stepped up and become a leader, and he lead this team to victory tonight. For the time being, Coach Spo is safe, and hopefully he will remain that way for the rest of the season.
Miami takes on Detroit Wednesday night. As Heat fans, we need to enjoy this win, and know the Heat are going to work hard in preparation for Detroit. LeBron has proven that he can lead this team, and I expect the rest of the team to continue to rise to his intensity.
Lets see Miami go out there and play like they played against Washington every game.

Lets see Miami go out there and play like they played against Washington every game.

Heat Vs. Wizards Tonight / Coach Spo Is On The Hot Seat
This is going to be a rough week for a few guys in South Beach. For LeBron, he will be heading back to Cleveland very shortly, which is going to be a very hostile environment. Also, the Heat players are not happy with how the team is performing and are becoming increasingly frustrated. On top of all of this, Coach Spoelstra is inching closer and closer to losing his job.
After the loss against Dallas the other night, the Miami Heat held a players only meeting. LeBron told the media that this meeting served as an outlet for all the guys, where they could vent about any problems they had involving frustration with the team. However, Spoelstra's name was probably thrown around negatively once or twice.
Coach Spo is in a mess of trouble. The players are not happy, and the media breathing down his neck at all times. He is sandwiched between two amazing leaders in LeBron James and Pat Riley, and you can tell that it is getting to him. He tries to appear confident in interviews and post game appearances, but there is a high recognizable nervous undertone.
This whole situation is a self fulfilling prophecy. If your a player in the locker room, and everywhere you go and everywhere you look analysts and reporters are saying,"The coach is bad, fire the coach, is the coach the reason your play is suffering, whats wrong with the coaching?" eventually, you are going to start to believe them. On top of that, now you have all the fans thinking that Coach is the problem as well. If the fans become restless, there is a HUGE problem.
The entire situation is unfortunate for Spoelstra, but it is the price you pay for being important to media in today's society. With all of these factors in play, the set of games Miami has this week becomes extremely important.
The Wizards enter this game with a winless road record. Although Miami has not been playing their best basketball, they do tend to play better at home. Wall is still nursing a knee injury as well, bringing his productivity into question. Miami has a problem with good point guards, but Wall is very young and a little banged up. The Heat should be able to handle him accordingly.
LeBron will step up and be the leader tonight. He hears all the media chatter, and he knows that--regardless of the coaching situation--the Heat need to step up and win some games. He will take control of the team and keep them all in line until this coaching question is silenced. Look for him to lead the way tonight and play one of his better games.
Wade has stepped aside to let LeBron lead this team. I, for one, am completely okay with this. LeBron's playing style is more indicative of him being the leader, and he is much more vocal than Wade is. Wade now has the job of being a pure scorer while keeping his calm demeanor. I expect him to have at least 20 tonight, and look for plenty of fast break opportunities against the Wizards. Washington's transition D is not that great, and Miami should be looking to take advantage of that.
Bosh has been playing consistent basketball, so I look for that to continue. 20 points and 8 rebounds from him should be more than enough, assuming he plays solid defense.
I want rebounds from Z and points from Arroyo. Z is a big dude and can still grab the ball in his veteran years. He needs to make his presence known on the boards and shoot the open shot. Arroyo also needs to put up some points. Even if he scores 8 or 10, that just gives the Wizards one more body to guard.
I NEED the rest of the line up to step up tonight. The past few games Bosh, James, and Wade have been doing all of the scoring. These guys need to make a name for themselves and get involved. Jones and House should knock down some 3's and create a spark off of the bench. When these two guys are able to get going, the lanes will open up for the big 3. As for the rest of the squad, they have to fight and scrap for the win in every second they play of tonight's game. This week is extremely important, and a grounded team that will do anything to win is crucial.
I know a lot of distraction exist in Miami right now, but everyone has to look past that. Lets take care of business tonight.

Spoelstra and LeBron's Bump : Making Something Out Of Nothing
Okay, so in last nights game there was a little altercation between Coach Spo and LeBron that some people thought was the end of the world. LeBron was walking off the court, furious. At the same time, Spoelstra was storming onto the court, also furious. These two did not move out of each others way, and although they were not talking or looking at each other, they bumped into each other. Spoelstra kept on coaching and LeBron did not break stride walking to the bench. Yet somehow, the media finds a way to turn this event into world war 3. For those of you that did not see this clip, check it out.
Okay, so when you slow the tape down you can clearly see that neither one of these men even glanced in the other's direction. They most likely did not see each other. On top of that, NO coach would let that slide if they thought it was intentional (not even Spo). They were obviously both extremely frustrated and neither one of them was thinking about manners. And yet, because this was LeBron, and because it is the Miami Heat, the media found another way to blow things out of proportion.
Heat fans should not be worried about this. Part of the relationship between the coach and the player is tension. I am sure Kobe and Phil are not best of pals, and I am positive that Pat Riley was not loved in the locker room. It is part of the game, and the media needs to stop treating every blip in the radar like it is a catastrophe. If the players had a problem with the coach, don't you think that, with all the media attention Miami is getting, we would know it by now?
We all know that we would, so lets not make a big deal out of this. As far as I am concerned, it's all white noise.

Heat's Weak Bench Is Becoming Increasingly Obvious
I have been discussing the bench play for a few games now, but I will discuss it again. A weak bench is killing Miami, and James and Wade can not play every second of every game. There is little intensity on the bench, NO leadership, and a lot of guys that just want to sit around and watch someone else shoot. This is unacceptable.
We may not be that far away from a team where all 3 of the big 3 are not starting anymore. I mean, these guys score about 75 percent of the points every game, while the rest of the team does next to nothing. Maybe if Bosh came in with the second set of guys, there would be a little more functionality. However, having a star in there with the bench will just lead to more standing around and waiting. I really not know how to fix this problem, but I have a few ideas.
How about we give Mario Chalmers a chance? Carlos Arroyo has not been cutting it and really can not handle being on the court with the big 3. He is a solid player, but is not fitting into the starting line up they way he should by now. I think we need to see Chalmers get some more minutes, and eventually work his way into the starting rotation. He was played good basketball for the Heat before, and may have an easier time gelling with the big 3 than Arroyo. I think this guy needs the opportunity to prove himself.
Z was definitely a change for the better, but improvements cans till be made. I hope Dampier gets into better shape as the season goes on so we can see him moved into the starting slot. Z is good, but there are already 4 other guys on the court that like to shoot from the perimeter. Z is effective because he provides a change of pace from your typical center. However, when he is the only center, people learn to account for him. Having Dampier's physical presence on the inside could the Heat with boards and defense. Then, Z could come in off the bench and help put up some points.
I am not a professional coach, and I do not know what is going on behind closed doors in Miami. I do, however, know that there is something wrong and a change needs to be made sooner rather than later. I have the utmost confidence in the big 3, but the rest of the team is scaring me a little bit. The coaching staff needs to switch the rotations around, or maybe even waive some guys and bring some new faces in. In the next few games, I expect to see a lot of different looks in Miami.
The Heat take on Washington tomorrow night. With a young guard like Wall playing, maybe Chalmers will see a little more time. But for now, all we can do is wait and see what the Heat bring to the table.

FeVeR Releases "LeBron James"
Alright, so I usually do not like to talk about anything other then LeBron or the Heat, but I am going to make an exception for this guy. He calls himself FeVeR and he is from the Bronx, New York. He just released a song titled "LeBron James"(now you guys know why I like him). For those of you that like rap, this song is a good one. He has great lyrics, a nice sound, and I love the fact that someone can write a positive song about the King. I appreciate the people, like myself, who will go against the grain and support LeBron. So many people are trying to profit off of LeBron's haters, and it is nice to see this guy go out and make music about his positive attributes.
As far as credibility is concerned, FeVeR is associated with DJ Green Lantern and Team Invasion. If you guys like his song and want more, check out http://www.myspace.com/usornuffin or follow him on twitter at @whoizfever. Please leave some comments and let us know what you think of his sound.

Heat Fall To Mavericks 106-95
Another night when the big 3 play well, and another night when the rest of the team is unable to create any offense. We are now beginning to see a scary pattern with the bench play. Lets take a closer look at tonight's game.
James, Wade, and Bosh all did what they came to Miami to do. These 3 combined for 67 points, and each had a good amount of rebounds. These three are starting to play together very well, and Bosh has really found a rhythm in the offense. Wade and Bosh shot particularly well tonight, and found there way into the lane multiple times. Unfortunately, the bench was not able to help the way they need to.
Before I even get into the bench play, lets talk about Z and Arroyo. These two are starters, and combined for only 6 points in the whole game. This is unacceptable. If you are a starter for an NBA team you have to be able to create for yourself and score some buckets. These guys needed to step up tonight, and quite frankly, they didn't.
The rest of the bench combined for 14 points, with Jones having 9 of them. The bench has not been able to put the ball in the cup as of late, and it is becoming a serious problem. I don't know what the coaching staff wants to do as far as line ups, but something needs to change. This bench simply is not doing their job, and some of these players are not fitting into the offense the way they should. However, I will tip my hat to Jones and House. Those two usually play solid basketball, and have been all the life on the bench so far this season.
I do not know what the coaching staff wants to do with this bench. Some serious changes have to be made. We saw Dampier get some minutes tonight, but he was pretty much ineffective. Although Dallas is a good team, there is no reason the rest of the team should not be able to score more consistently. If this problem does not correct itself soon, we may be seeing some serious changes in South Beach.
