Heat Fall To Mavericks 106-95

Another night when the big 3 play well, and another night when the rest of the team is unable to create any offense. We are now beginning to see a scary pattern with the bench play. Lets take a closer look at tonight's game.

James, Wade, and Bosh all did what they came to Miami to do. These 3 combined for 67 points, and each had a good amount of rebounds. These three are starting to play together very well, and Bosh has really found a rhythm in the offense. Wade and Bosh shot particularly well tonight, and found there way into the lane multiple times. Unfortunately, the bench was not able to help the way they need to.

Before I even get into the bench play, lets talk about Z and Arroyo. These two are starters, and combined for only 6 points in the whole game. This is unacceptable. If you are a starter for an NBA team you have to be able to create for yourself and score some buckets. These guys needed to step up tonight, and quite frankly, they didn't.

The rest of the bench combined for 14 points, with Jones having 9 of them. The bench has not been able to put the ball in the cup as of late, and it is becoming a serious problem. I don't know what the coaching staff wants to do as far as line ups, but something needs to change. This bench simply is not doing their job, and some of these players are not fitting into the offense the way they should. However, I will tip my hat to Jones and House. Those two usually play solid basketball, and have been all the life on the bench so far this season.

I do not know what the coaching staff wants to do with this bench. Some serious changes have to be made. We saw Dampier get some minutes tonight, but he was pretty much ineffective. Although Dallas is a good team, there is no reason the rest of the team should not be able to score more consistently. If this problem does not correct itself soon, we may be seeing some serious changes in South Beach.
